Worship Ministry

I will praise You, O LORD, with my whole heart;
I will tell of all Your marvelous works.
I will be glad and rejoice in You;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.

Psalm 9:1-2 NKJV

Music has always been an integral part of people's lives in relation to God. We see songs being sung and music being played all throughout the Bible. In fact, singing appears to be a reflection of God's character in people: "The LORD your God in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:17. At Calvary Chapel French Valley, we view singing songs to God as an opportunity to pour out our hearts of love to him. We gather together in song each Sunday to celebrate His grace and mercy, and to remember how He continues to work in our current trials.

    Faith and the Future! Genesis 48:1-22

    Pastor Rick continues a verse-by-verse study through the book of Genesis. Everyone thinks about the future. It might be as trivial as what they are going to have for lunch. Or it might be something serious like what will happen if you get a diagnosis of illness. The stronger our faith, the less the future troubles us. Pastor Rick shares the account of Jacob at the end of his life blessing the sons of Joseph as an expression of his faith about the future. Genesis is the book of beginnings. Within the fifty chapters that make up this fascinating book of the Old Testament God exercises His creative power to bring the universe into existence by simply telling it to do so. Later we will see the creation of a special people with the calling of Abram. The Law is given later. Sadly, sin mars God’s ‘very good’ creation and so we also see the creation of a plan to redeem mankind back to the One True God. This very old book is very relevant to today.
