UPLIFTING PRAYER!
Weekly Prayer List
Week of January 31, 2021
One of the ways God chooses to interact with His people is via prayer. When we pray out of faith and obedience, we are aligning our heart and mind with God's.
Here is a list of things we prayed about during the service that we would like you to partner with in lifting up to our loving Father in Heaven.
Pray for the U.S. - Pray for peace in the United States. God told the Israelites He exiled to Babylon to pray in a way that might have seemed strange to them.
"And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the LORD for it; for in its peace you will have peace." Jeremiah 29:7
We pray for peace in our country so that we can live at peace. Let's also pray that our leaders would humble themselves before God and seek His will in the governance of this country.
Pray for Calvary Chapel Pastor Mike McClure - Pastor Mike McClure of CC San Jose has been sued by the city of San Jose for holding indoor church services. The church has been fined over one million dollars and he has personal fines of about thirty-thousand dollars. Pray for God's protection over Pastor Mike, his family, and the church family of CC San Jose.
Pray for your pastors - Things like those that are happening at CC San Jose could happen anywhere. Pray for your pastors for the strength and faith to remain faithful should something like that come. Pray also that they would remain faithful stand upon and preach the truth of God's Word regardless of the potential consequences.
Pray for lukewarm pastors - The Bible teaches that in the End Times people will desire something other than the pure milk of God's Word. "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry." 2 Timothy 4:3-5 Sadly many pastors will give people what they want rather than what God's Word says they need. This will produce lukewarm church that Jesus spit out of His mouth when He returns (Revelation 3:14-18). Pray that those pastors experience the conviction of the Holy Spirit and repent and lead their congregations in Spirit and in truth.
Comfort during pandemic - A number of families in the church have tested positive for COVID. Thankfully, we are not aware of anyone being exposed to the virus at church. Let's pray for quick healing and God's comfort as those families navigate this difficult thing. Pray also about what you might do to bless those who are struggling.
New Facility for CCFV - God has blessed us with a new place. Let's agree in prayer praising God for His gracious provision. Also, please pray for wisdom, protection, and provision as we look for ways to glorify God, bless others, and grow faith through this new place.
Prayers during COVID-19 Pandemic
The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is worldwide. The number of things that we could be praying about is endless. For the purpose of this post, here are just a few.
The sick and infected - Pray for healing and the stop of the spread of the virus.
The vulnerable - Some people are more vulnerable to this virus than most of the population. Pray for God's protection.
Local, state, and federal governments - Pray for God's wisdom and humility on how to best protect people and lead them through this pandemic.
Frontline healthcare workers - Pray for protection, strength, endurance, and love so that they can finish this difficult race.
Pray for wisdom about the vaccine for COVID - Everyone needs to seek the Lord to determine whether it is wise to take the vaccine that has been produced for the COVID-19 virus. Do your research and speak with your doctor and pray for God's wisdom.
Things we should always be praying about
Our government - As our government prepares to go through a change of leadership, pray for peace and unity. Our local, state, and federal government leaders need our prayers. Many of them are trying to lead without God's wisdom. So, they use man's wisdom and their decisions reflect the lost nature of their soul. Pray that the Holy Spirit would lead them to God-honoring decisions.
Israel - The nation of Israel will forever be God's people and the land of Israel will forever belong to the Jews. Pray for God's protection and that they would come to know their Messiah Jesus Christ! They are headed to a fourth election in March. Pray for God's will to be done in that election.
Leadership of the church - God doesn't need people to accomplish His will but He chooses to use them. In the church God raises up men to lead the church to accomplish His will in the world around them. This is not always an easy task. Pray for God's wisdom and the endurance they need to run the race set before them.
