STRENGTH TRAINING Monthly Men's Potluck Breakfast
God calls all men to be strong, but not as the world defines strength. Every month we gather to take time away from our busy lives to grow in our faith that we might grow to be the right kind of strong.
This is a time of good food, great fellowship, and a teaching that should help us all to grow in our faith.
The STRENGTH TRAINING Men's Breakfast usually happens on the third Saturday of every month. Go to the Upcoming Events Calendar to confirm when the next one is happening.
Pastor Rick Lancaster continues a topical series for men: STRENGTH TRAINING: Growing daily in the things that matter! Everything in life has a spiritual component. Discovering the spiritual component and choosing to live according to the Spirit is the key to a life that produces life and peace rather than death and conflict.
The cost is $10 per man. All men are welcome!
Proceeds go to fund Men's Ministry events.

The Joy of Knowing His Love! Philippians 1:8-11
Pastor Rick begins a series through the letter to the Philippians – The Joy of Knowing Christ! In this text Paul expresses his love for the people of the church in Philippi. He then prays that their love would abound more and more. The modern understanding of love falls far short of what God is looking for from His people. Rick shares a message about God’s love and how we are to walk in that love. From a Roman prison Paul writes of grace, the gospel, and joy. There are many practical things in this short but powerful letter. Philippians is a letter that Paul wrote to a church he was fond of. There is an unmistakable tone of joy in this letter. That is remarkable because Paul wrote the letter while in a Roman prison where one of the possible outcomes was death. Paul looks not to his circumstances for joy and happiness but to his knowledge of Christ. Faith in Christ was the basis for Paul’s ability to experience joy – even in the darkest of circumstances. It doesn’t mean that he enjoyed the hard things of life or that they made him happy. But his knowledge of his Savior enabled Paul to see those things in a way that allowed him to choose joy as his response. Everyone wants to be happy. But let’s be real – sometimes life throws things at us that are not pleasant. The better we are able to put our trust in God and His Word – the more we will experience joy even in the midst of the dark things of life. And then when we experience the things that makes us happy, they will be even sweeter. The main thing is knowing Christ better and better.
