Prophecy Update Next Sunday
It is something of a tradition for Pastor Randy to do a prophecy update on the first Sunday of the year. Plan on being there at the 9:30 am service, Sunday, January 3, 2021. There are so many strange things going on in the world that we can forget that God is carrying out His plan to restore the world back to Himself. None of the things we going on are outside God's sovereign plan.
Not only that, God wrote in His Word about many of these things. That is not always easy to see - the connections to current events and God's prophetic Word is not always obvious. That is why we take time out of our regular teaching schedule to update you about current events and how they relate to God's prophetic Word. We hope you will join us in-person or online Sunday, January 3rd at 9:30 am.

The Joy of Knowing His Love! Philippians 1:8-11
Pastor Rick begins a series through the letter to the Philippians – The Joy of Knowing Christ! In this text Paul expresses his love for the people of the church in Philippi. He then prays that their love would abound more and more. The modern understanding of love falls far short of what God is looking for from His people. Rick shares a message about God’s love and how we are to walk in that love. From a Roman prison Paul writes of grace, the gospel, and joy. Philippians is a letter that Paul wrote to a church he was fond of. There is an unmistakable tone of joy in this letter. That is remarkable because Paul wrote the letter while in a Roman prison where one of the possible outcomes was death. Paul looks not to his circumstances for joy and happiness but to his knowledge of Christ. Faith in Christ was the basis for Paul’s ability to experience joy – even in the darkest of circumstances. It doesn’t mean that he enjoyed the hard things of life or that they made him happy. But his knowledge of his Savior enabled Paul to see those things in a way that allowed him to choose joy as his response. Everyone wants to be happy. But let’s be real – sometimes life throws things at us that are not pleasant. The better we are able to put our trust in God and His Word – the more we will experience joy even in the midst of the dark things of life. And then when we experience the things that makes us happy, they will be even sweeter. The main thing is knowing Christ better and better.
