Women's Retreat Volunteer Teams

You are here for a reason! It was no mistake that you came into existence. God thought of you and made you. And He didn’t make you just so that you would exist – there is a reason why you exist. Discovering what that reason is, is one of the great challenges of life. But when you find it, your whole life can be transformed and enriched beyond your imagination.

Come, be a part of a group of women seeking to know what God has for them today. This weekend is sure to bless your heart and breathe new life into your soul.

The success of every retreat is a work of the Holy Spirit. But He also invites us to play a role in His work. Any retreat is a large event and requires some volunteers. Below are some areas where you can get involved in the work the Holy spirit will do before and during the retreat weekend.

Below are summaries of the areas you might want to get involved. If you keep scrolling down you will find more details for each of them. Prayer Team:

Prayer is the most important aspect of our retreat! It is through prayer that God moves and works. It is the vital foundation we must lay before ever stepping out to do the work. If we do the work without bathing it in prayer, we labor in vain. This team regularly bathes the overall Retreat in prayer!

Decoration Team:

This team brings to life the theme of our retreat and helps develop the atmosphere we desire to create. It also plays a part in making the ladies feel special and cared for. We want to develop a relaxed atmosphere that feels homey to the retreater.

Registration & Greeting Team:

This important team sets the tone for our retreat. These people will bring life and excitement about the retreat by encouraging the ladies to participate and by making them feel comfortable and welcome.

Here are more detailed descriptions of each of the teams.

Decorations:

  • This team brings to life the theme of our retreat and helps develop the atmosphere we desire to create. It also plays a part in making the ladies feel special and cared for
  • We want to develop a relaxed atmosphere that feels homey to the retreater. Decorations will be simple…planning on borrowing things from people to accomplish this
  • Items ‘Decoration Team is responsible for:
    • Conference Room
    • Registration Table
    • Design & make (or purchase) “Name Tags”
    • Lanyards for Name Tags
    • Participant gifts? Not sure about the gifts this year…talk about different ideas…if making them
    • Help distribute participant gifts
    • Signs to direct women at the facility

Prayer Team:

  • Prayer is the most important aspect of our retreat! It is through prayer that God moves and works. It is the vital foundation we must lay before ever stepping out to do the work. If we do the work without bathing it in prayer, we labor in vain.
  • Before Retreat:
  • Be in daily prayer for the work God wants to do at the retreat
  • Meet at least two times in corporate prayer to pray for the retreat
  • During Retreat
  • Be active in prayer throughout the retreat
  • Pray as a group before each session
  • Pray with & for the Worship team & speakers before the sessions
  • Be available for prayer after main sessions and throughout retreat
  • After Retreat
  • Continue to pray for the work God has started

Registration & Greeting Team:

  • This important team sets the tone for our retreat. These people will bring life to the retreat by encouraging the ladies in participate and by making them feel comfortable and welcome.

  • Registration:
  • Registration Table before Retreat:
  • Encourage signups for all women
  • Have information & signup sheets available
  • Receive & document payments
  • Registration Table at Retreat Center:
  • Friday Evening: Organize Registration Area
  • Set up: Roster, Name Tags, Keys, & Packets
  • Check In ladies and give them their Name Tags, Room Keys, & Packets
  • Saturday Morning: Have someone available to register people who come late
  • Sunday Morning: Check Out ladies & collect their room keys
  • Greeting:
  • Several people should be positioned around the registration table & front office to direct traffic and greet the ladies as they arrive
  • Have some greeters available to carry luggage
  • Greeters should be very friendly (help the women feel welcome)
