Wise Men Seek the King – Matthew 2:1-23

Pastor Rick Lancaster continues a series in the gospel of Matthew: The Savior-King and His Kingdom. In this message Rick looks at the account of the wise men coming to worship the newly born King of the Jews. We see three different responses to Jesus in text. Only one of them is right, and sadly it is not the most common one we find in churches and Christians. Matthew’s gospel serves as a bridge between the Old and New Testaments. Matthew seeks to prove to the Jews that Jesus is the long-awaited Messiah. For those of us who are not Jews, Matthew helps us to see our Savior-King more clearly and through his gospel learn to live well in Christ’s kingdom today. Rick is the Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel French Valley in Murrieta, California. For more information about what is going on at Calvary Chapel French Valley, go to http://ccfv.life.
